I am humbled and privileged to be asked by whanau to put my name forward for a potential Tataraakina C trustee opportunity, however, this also came with fundamental prerequisite self-analysis of availability, responsibility and commitment.
I have passionately frequented Tarawera, Tataraakina and Te Haroto over many years, and both my grandfather Ngaurupa Barney Northcroft and Hiini Ngaurupa Northcroft worked at the old Tarawera Mill, and my mother Melvia Moengaroa Northcroft went to Te Haroto School.
I have strong values in Kaitiakitanga, Rangatiratanga, Manaakitanga and Whakawhanaungatanga that in-turn for me, fosters for a pathway of attribute principles supporting, but not limited to, Respect, Transparency, Approachability, Accountability, Honesty and Trust.
I acknowledge the mahi and fiduciary responsibilities of any trustee is never a straightforward easy task, and therefore further note that my focus strategies have always sought to align with my values, and accordingly then seeking for resolves of meaningful and enduring outcomes that are in both the short and long-term best interests of the beneficiary constituency, but importantly in many cases, also having regards to our taiao and its intrinsic culture upon and thereof, both current and historical.
I reside at our whanau homestead at Tutetawha Marae Māori Reservation, Waitahanui, Taupō.
